to equip refugees and others affected by conflict in Africa to meet the
challenges of development through providing access to education, training, and
employment opportunities by advocacy and direct programme activity. Windle
Trust Uganda has been a leading provider of access to university education,
post-primary education, and vocational training for conflict-affected Africans
since 1996. WTU works in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees (UNHCR).
Job Summary: The Finance
Assistant will provide support to the settlement, as related to the preparation
and monitoring of budget estimates, financial transactions, e-imprest,
journalization, and liquidation of payments and facilitate the timely transfer
of funds for Programme activities. The jobholder will provide assistance to
staff and non-staff on all issues related to financial matters at field level.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly
    financial reports
  • Maintain and file financial records and
    regularly post accounts data into QuickBooks
  • Update accounting records as and when
    transactions take place, and ensure that proper documentation is filed for
    each transaction
  • Conduct cash counts on regular basis
  • Provide feedback on budget verses actual
    expenses
  • Make wire requests for the office
    operations
  • Maintain the books of accounts and
    database
  • Assist in monthly reconciliations
  • Liaise with Senior Finance Officer and
    Manager on Financial Planning
  • Other tasks as assigned/delegated by
    supervisors



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    in a related field
