Job Summary: The Program
Officer Livelihoods will take responsibility for planning, implementation,
monitoring and reporting on livelihood non-core program within the designated
sub counties to promote safe, supportive and enabling schools and community
environments for vulnerable children in hard to reach communities of Uganda.
S/he is expected to implement the Livelihood non program activities in schools
in a manner that promotes integration with other core programs of Sponsorship
and cross cutting themes such as gender, disability, child Protection,
ownership and sustainability and rights programming. The Job Holder also
implements the livelihood non-core program in collaboration with Sub county
stakeholders and ensure meaningful active participation of Children and their
parents/guardians.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Save the
    Children Program Officer Livelihoods job placement should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, entrepreneurship and other
    related fields.
  • Three years of progressive experience in
    planning and implementation of livelihood programme in schools
  • Ability to speak the local language
    Luganda fluently is a strong requirement.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle (Honda XL
    125) and the candidate must be having a valid riding permit and willing to
    ride a motorcycle
  • Desirable
  • Demonstrable financial, planning and
    budget management skills a MUST.
  • Extensive knowledge of international and
    local policies and frameworks relating to their thematic area is a must
    and excellent planning, coordination and reporting skills, with the
    ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse
    tasks and responsibilities
  • Previous experience of working with local
    partners and District Local Government.
