Job Summary: The Program
Officer, Community Health will be primarily responsible for planning and
ensuring quality and timely delivery of community based services of the MNCH
program; including leading and coordination in collaboration with the District
Health Team Leadership-mapping and training of VHTs in ICCM and community
newborn care; integrated outreach mobile outreach MNCH clinics; child health
days ; support supervision and mentorship of VHTs; and accurate documentation
and reporting of community based activities The Program Officer may be called
upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of
humanitarian crisis and to coordinate district level activities on behalf of
the MNCH program manager.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Save the
Children Program Officer, Community Health job placement should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in a health related subject or higher diploma in either
midwifery, nursing or clinical officer - Possession of a postgraduate training in
either public health, or health systems strengthening, or community
health, or reproductive Health and Gender, is an added advantage - A minimum of three years working experience
in MNCH related programming in Uganda (preferably with an International
NGO). - Skills and experience in training and
mentorship of Village Health Teams needed - Willingness to work and stay in Kasese or
Bundibugyo - Experience of working with local partners
and training as a Master trainer in either ICCM - Community newborn care and family planning
delivery - Previous experience of working with
District Local Government on MNCH programs
