multivitamins to NGOs that work with children 6-59 months old and/or pregnant

Job Summary: Vitamin Angels (VA) seeks a dedicated
entry or mid-level professional to join Vitamin Angels as a part-time
Uganda-based Consultant Program Administrator to support continued expansion of
VA’s micronutrient distribution system in Uganda. VA’s donations in Uganda have
grown rapidly and VA currently makes grants to about 40 Ugandan organizations
reaching over 500,000 children under 5. Under direction of the Uganda Country
Program Consultant, the Program Administrative Consultant will contribute to
VA’s continued growth and success in Uganda by assuming responsibility for
administration and coordination of VA’s micronutrient grants program. Based on
their performance the consultant may have the opportunity take on more
consultancy days per week in the future.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing
administrative support in the planning and execution of monitoring
activities; - Providing
logistical support in the planning and execution of vitamin A
supplementation training workshops; - Support
import, storage and domestic transport of vitamins to reach grant
recipients; - Supporting
new grantee identification and outreach efforts; - Providing
basic technical assistance and support services to grantees and
counterpart organizations; and - Support
administrative record keeping for all micronutrient grants.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant for the Vitamin Angels (VA) Program Administrator should
preferably hold a B.A./B.Sc
degree from an accredited four year university with a relevant area
of discipline; - Prior
experience performing administrative duties, and managing logistics; - High
computer literacy, including extensive experience with Microsoft Excel,
Word and PowerPoint, and ability to input data to an online
database after training; - Based
in the Kampala area, willing to work from a home office or shared office
space and has reliable phone and internet connectivity at home; - Willing
and able to travel domestically and possibly internationally; - Must
own personal computer or be ready to purchase their own computer for job - Superior
written and oral communications skills in English, and - Superior
organizational skills and attention to detail.
Highly desirable:
- Undergraduate
degree in public health, nursing, nutrition, medicine, computer
science; - Experience
working with a variety of NGOs in the health sector; - Experience
facilitating group workshops or trainings; - Fluency
in indigenous Ugandan languages and - Experience
working and/or volunteering with an NGO/community based
organization.
