About US:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation
Services in Uganda (for people with disability) was established in 2006 as a
private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by CBM
(Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital and Rehabilitation
Centre on Entebbe Road provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and
Rehabilitation, mainly for children with disability.
Job Summary: The Physiotherapist
will develop and implement appropriate physiotherapy programmes for CoRSU
clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work
    with clients on a one-to-one basis, group, community or special setting
    based on their levels of function and severity of disability.
  • Provide
    physiotherapy consultation, support and update about the clients’ progress
    and status to caregivers and all those involved in the rehabilitation team.
  • Evaluate,
    prescribe and fabricate assistive devices to improve movement as required
    by the clients.
  • Training
    patients and attendants on the use of physiotherapy methods and
    appliances.
  • Evaluates and documents clients’ therapy needs
    and progress.
  • Refer
    clients to the respective specialists for consultation and appropriate
    intervention.
  • Ensure
    proper handling of physiotherapy equipment during, and after use.
  • Provide
    on-the-job training for physiotherapists, therapy assistants and
    volunteers.
  • Participates
    in developing and or updating condition specific rehabilitation protocols.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy
  • A diploma with three years clinical experience is desirable.
  • Must
    be registered with Allied Health Professionals’ Counciland possessing
    up-to-date registration and annual practicing licence.
  • Computer
    knowledge and documentation skills
  • Knowledge
    of rehabilitation of people with disabilities especially children
  • Knowledge
    of Protocols of Therapy Services
