Job Summary: The Loan
Officer will act as liaison between customers and the firm and will help
qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner. You will also be
in-charge of supporting and growing the firm’s loan portfolio through the
mobilization, appraisal, disbursement, monitoring and recovery of loans in line
with the credit policies, procedures and set targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tasked
with evaluating credit worthiness by processing loan applications and
documentation within the specified limits - Meeting
with applicants to obtain information for loan applications and to
answer questions about the process - Explaining
to customers the different types of loans and credit options that are
available, as well as the terms of those services - Marketing
the firm’s products to individuals and firms, promoting the firm’s
services that may meet customers’ needs - Analysing
potential loan markets and developing referral networks in order to locate
prospects for loans - Negotiating
payment arrangements with customers who have delinquent loans and
initiating recovery actions for delinquent loans - Operating
in compliance with the laws and regulations and adhering to lending
compliance guidelines
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a Diploma in any Business, Economics or
Microfinance related course - Two
years’ experience in the banking, SACCO or microfinance sectors - Demonstrable
communication, problem solving, team and interpersonal skills - Ability
to work in a goal oriented environment - Very
enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated with a positive attitude - Flexible,
innovative and creative
