Job Summary: The Area
Program Officer – Southwestern Region will plan, supervise and implement all
projects activities and partnership development in the assigned cluster in line
with PSI program objectives and donor requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Social Marketing:
  • Supervise the implementation of social
    marketing activities across the cluster according to the marketing plans
    to increase demand for PSI products.
  • Distribute, track and reconcile of
    commodities and IEC materials in the cluster in line with the supply chain
    management procedures.
Planning and Quality Assurance:
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual work plan and budget
for the implementation of all projects in the cluster.
Advocacy, PR and partnership development:
  • Implement advocacy, PR and partnerships
    development activities in the cluster of operation for effective
    achievement of program objectives.
  • Build capacity (Training, Mentoring and
    coaching) of implementing partners to execute PSI projects.
Risk Management: Implement risk management activities to
mitigate operational and financial risks in the region.
Knowledge management: Document and share best practices and
agreed upon behavior change indicators in the cluster with implementing
partners and PSI.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal applicant should preferably hold
    a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Community Psychology, Social
    Sciences, Social Administration
  • Additional training in Project Planning
    and Management is an added advantage
  • At least two years’ experience working
    with rural communities, local partners including local government
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and
    networking skills.
  • Knowledge of the Health service standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with various
    partners including MoH, Local governments,
  • CBOs and other NGOs.
  • Strong understanding of health services,
    preferably in the NGO sector in Uganda.
  • Good report writing and presentation
    skills coupled with good knowledge of of Ms Office programs including
    Word, Excel and power point.
  • Excellent verbal, written and
    communication skills.
