Responsible for journal bookings in Winpaccs
accounting software and producing of monthly end of period reports before the
set deadlines.
Tasked with ensuring that vouchers booked in the
journals conform to O+R standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards.
Sending monthly feedback to the projects on the
quality of vouchers submitted and supporting them to improve on their quality
of work.
Follow up of receivables
Tasked with verifying submitted invoices for
payment.
Verifying submitted accountabilities from staff
and partners
Issuing of invoices to third parties
Compiling of taxes for filling to URA
Managing the daily cash fund
Responsible for cash based on the vouchers
collected daily
Responsible for making payments both through
bank and cash
Books all payments made in the cash book on a
daily basis
Reconciles the bank book with the bank statement
on a daily basis.
Reconciles the cash book and cash account daily
Reports any surplus or shortfall in cash
Reports without delay if the cash holding
reaches a minimum level
Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Business administration, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or related
area
Master degree and Professional certifications
(ACCA, CPA, etc) are added advantage.
Professional experience
A minimum of three years of experience in this
area
Possess basic knowledge of accounting software
Good working knowledge of ITC technologies
(related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g.
MS Office)
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines
Willingness to up-skill as required by the tasks
to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
Excellent knowledge of English language
