Job Summary: The Safety and
Security Coordinator will support Save the Children in effectively managing
security risks posed to the personnel/ staff, assets, programs and operations
of Save the Children International Uganda Country Office. 
The job purpose includes continuous security risk assessment and
providing advice on safety and security risk management; the maintenance of
appropriate measures and guidelines; ensuring that field working practices are
robust and that all staff are aware of, trained in, and adhere to safety &
security policies’ guidelines and procedures. Integral to the position is the
ability to work successfully with field teams to cultivate capacity and
motivation, thereby ensuring field-based responsibility for security analysis
and management.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Safety and Security Coordinator job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in a related field.
·        
Possession of a formal security qualification or
appropriate security management training is desired
·        
At least four years of hands-on experience in
safety and security management.
·        
Previous experience in liaising with government,
NGOs, UN agencies and security agencies.
·        
Experience of incident reporting, information
collation and analysis.
·        
Ability to balance demands of beneficiary and
security actors while maintaining appropriate contextual security advice and
coordination.
·        
Excellent planning, coordination and reporting
skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of
complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
