(Operations and Investor Support)
manage, market, maintain, supervise, control and to provide for other related
matters of Free Zones in Uganda, as outlined in section 13 sub-section 1 to 2
of the Free Zones Act, 2014.
Officer will manage and coordinate daily activities within Free Zones to ensure
compliance with management requirements for supervision and control of Free
Zones.
Ensure that facilities provided by business
enterprises have obtained the approval of the Developer, and are in compliance
with internationally approved practices
Inspect proposed Free Zone sites to ensure
provision of physical amenities and infrastructure
Coordinate and monitor activities of the
Developer
Work closely with consultants and relevant
Government Institutions to facilitate the execution of key infrastructure
projects in Public Free Zones
The incumbent will also reconcile operational
performance plans
Coordinate Customs control mechanisms with URA
and ensure that contraband products and services are not used in Free Zones, in
accordance with URA regulations and EAC Customs regulations
Coordinate regular customs compliance visits in
all operating Free Zones
Liaise and coordinate with Government Agencies
and Local Authorities involved in Physical Planning, Environmental and Land
matters
Coordinate with Consultants appointed by the
Authority when putting up structures and infrastructure facilities
Build strong bonds with prospective Developers
and Business Enterprises to execute their Projects
Perform any other duties assigned from time to
time.
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Operations Officer
vacancy should hold a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration and
Management, Commerce, Business Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics or any
related field.
A minimum of three years’ working experience in
Customs Operations and procedures, Business Process Management, Cargo
Management in a reputable institution/organisation.
Excellent communication skills
Innovative
Ability to work in a team;
Ability to build strong bonds with clients
Self-motivation and capability to work under
tight deadlines in a competitive environment meet targets
High moral integrity.
Age: Between 25 – 40 years old
