Job Summary: The Livelihoods
Officer will contribute to the successful design and implementation of
livelihood project interventions in refugee Settlements in West Nile and any
other area of operation for DCA. The Officer plays a varied role in
coordinating livelihood activities, including leadership of Livelihoods
Assistants under the leadership of the Project Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Together with the Project Manager, resolve the
issues and make decisions regarding criteria identification, selection,
verification and graduation of beneficiaries targeted for livelihoods
assistance.
·        
Actively contribute to proposal development
based on assessments and under the direction of the project manager.
·        
Engage with relevant staff and other support
staff to put in place a detailed implementation plan for livelihoods project.
·        
Design systems and ensure accountability
specifically to refugees, local communities, Office of the Prime Minister
(OPM), donors and other stakeholders.
·        
Over all responsible for implementation of
Livelihoods project interventions including community mobilization and ensuring
that the project integrates refugee and host community approaches.
·        
Closely follow up on day to day implementation
of livelihood project activities and take corrective action to achieve key
result indicators on livelihoods and other project targets and goals as
specified in work plan,
·        
Ensure quality of project outputs through
regular supervision and monitoring exercise to the project locations.
·        
Ensure that the project beneficiary communities
are participating as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of
projects.
·        
Participate in the preparation of M&E plan
for the livelihoods projects and ensure its implementation
·        
Work in liaison with the data management and
monitoring and evaluation officer put in place project field monitoring tools
and project database and ensure the database is updated regularly with
information from the field activities.
·        
Send timely high quality project progress
reports both for DCA internal and donor requirements
·        
Collect lessons learned, best practices, cases
studies and support knowledge management.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The applicant should for the DanChurchAid (DCA) Livelihoods
Officer job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in
agriculture, business or other related field.
·        
At least five years of practical experience in
agriculture or income generating activities.
·        
Ability to demonstrate high knowledge about
establishing Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and Income Generating
Activities (IGA).
·        
Previous exposure and experience in supporting
and working with farmers, small/ medium scale companies and private sector.
·        
Experience with market facilitation, supporting
systemic change and promoting services directly.
·        
Practical experience in working with micro,
small and medium sized companies.
·        
Experience of working with cash based
interventions
·        
Experience of working with Mobile Monitoring
Technology (MMT)
·        
Experience of working in Humanitarian sector
·        
Very good communication, report writing skills
and facilitation skills.
·
