thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance,

development and emergency contexts. Save the Children delivers programs in over
36 districts in the North, Rwenzori, North-Eastern and Central regions of
Uganda, Currently, Save the Children has a staff complement of over 300
persons. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them
fulfil their potential. In 2014, we reached over 143 million children through
our work around 52m directly and 91 million indirectly around the world.
Response Manager (ERM) assumes overall oversight and manages effective and
timely implementation of the SC Uganda (SCUG) Cat 2 emergency response to the
South Sudanese refugee influx as well as the emergency response to the
Congolese refugee population. The ERM supports the development and effectuation
of a resource mobilization strategy that ensures the response programme is
funded and backstopped adequately. The ERM reports to the DPO, with emphasis on
ensuring operational excellence and compliance
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Emergency Response Manager job placement should hold a Master’s Degree or
higher or equivalent field experience
Extensive experience of working within a senior
management role and within a complex country programme in an emergency response
& previous experience of managing programme teams in large-scale/complex,
first phase emergency response is essential
Experience of managing multi-donor, multi-site
programmes (including ECHO, DFID and OFDA) of GBP 5m+ in a first phase response
at regional or country level
Previous experience of international level
representation with key stakeholders, and co-ordination with other NGOs/UN
&Experience of international media representation and advocacy
Extensive exposure and experience in M&E and
beneficiary accountability systems.
