Job Summary: The Child
Protection and Education Officer – REACH Project will ensure effective
coordination and implementation of interventions that will provide protection
and education services to vulnerable children under the Uganda Refugee
Emergency WASH and Child protection implemented in Bidi Bidi refugee
settlement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management:
·        
Manage the implementation of the literacy boost
and child protection interventions under the REACH project
·        
Offer technical support to staff on skills
development related program interventions in West Nile refugee assistance
program.
·        
The jobholder will also manage the project’s
information and documentation processes, and ensure effective communication of
the project results.
Project monitoring and evaluation
·        
Facilitate effective monitoring, documentation
and reporting in compliance with grants’ agreements, minimum standards and
tools
·        
Facilitate the baseline and evaluation processes
in liaison with DM&E and project Manager for REACH project targeting
refugees and host communities.
Finance Management:
·        
Keenly monitor and manage the project budget in
line with project agreements and standards.
·        
Support risk management so as to address and report
any risks to management of program funds and budgets.
·        
Ensure project assets in the operation are safe
and secure in line with projects’ grant regulations, MoUs and agreements.
·        
Support audit processes in line with the
projects’ audit regulations
Performance management and supervision
·        
Supervise and build capacity of staff in
community engagements and Literacy boost.
·        
Identify caregivers, and staff capacity gaps and
work with the project Manager to ensure needs are met.
Project development
·        
Actively participate and also provide guidance
to the development of project designs, concepts and fundable proposals for
children and youth development programs
·        
Conduct assessments as required in the response
area
Network and Collaboration:
·        
Actively participate in education and child
protection coordination meetings at Zonal and settlement levels.
·        
Identify and build strategic linkages,
relations, collaborations and networks with partners and other stakeholders in
planning and implementation of project activities.
·        
Carry out review meetings with the district
education office and education partners in relation to Literacy boost and early
childhood development.
·        
Facilitate review meetings with community
members and beneficiaries.
·        
Facilitate the integration of Early childhood development
in child friendly spaces.
Documentation and reporting
·        
Document change stories in article and Video
formats to share project milestones and lessons learnt.
·        
Prepare quality reports and submit (progress
against delivery of outputs and achievement of outcomes, etc).
Sustainability
·        
Collaborate with relevant organizations,
agencies and actors in the refugee settlements and host communities to plan for
transition from the onset
·        
Ensure compliance to the child protection policy
and Education in Emergencies standards in all project interventions in
accordance with the inter agency guidelines, organization policies and Global
child protection minimum standards



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the World Vision Child
Protection and Education Officer – REACH Project job opportunity should hold a
University Degree in Education, Children and Youth Development, or related
field
·        
At least two years or more experience of relief
work relating to Education in emergencies and at least one year in community
development programming.
·        
Self-motivated with excellent management and
leadership skills
·        
Computer literacy skills
·        
Extensive knowledge of WV peace building and
advocacy approaches and models
·        
Excellent communication skills
