Responsibilities:
Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase
ledgers and journals.
Preparing statutory accounts to management.
Calculating and checking to make sure payments,
amounts and records are correct.
Sorting out incoming and outgoing daily posts
and answering any queries in accordance to QuickBooks system prompts.
Managing petty cash transactions.
Controlling credit and chasing activities of the
company.
Reconciling finance accounts and direct debits.
Maintaining relevant ledger books and ensuring
that ledger transactions have been properly posted.
Carrying out ledger account reconciliations.
Ensuring that all vouchers that have been
prepared and are ready for payment have all necessary attachments and have gone
through the right approval process before passing them for payment.
Conducting bank reconciliations of all company
accounts.
Providing analysis of financial data needed in
fiscal and budgetary planning.
Maintaining the Fixed Assets Register including
additions and disposals, maintaining asset depreciation reports and
reconciliation.
Work closely with the Procurement and Disposal
Unit in implementing procurements.
Providing support in the the preparation of
financial reports.
Preparing withdrawal application forms.
Managing the sales ledger.
Costing and invoicing clients.
Performing other duties as may become necessary
for the smooth running of the Department or the Company.
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or its equivalent.
Possession of a Postgraduate qualification shall be an added advantage. - Full professional accounting certification is desired
- A minimum of two years’ experience from a
reputable organisation. - Computer literacy i.e. experience in usage
of Accounting packages such as QuickBooks, shall be an added advantage. - Excellent interpersonal skills.
