Job Summary: The Field
Security Assistant will provide administrative, operational and coordination
support to the Response Security so to ensure effective implementation of the
security function.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Security Support:
·        
Provide security support to the area of
operation in crisis situations and critical incidents.
·        
Support contingency plans for Programme
suspension, staff hibernation, relocation and evacuation plans.
·        
Carry out periodic location Security Risk
Assessments to ensure that all safety and security equipment are available and
in serviceable condition.
·        
Keenly track staff movement during working hours
to ensure safe travels
·        
Carry out security investigations WHEN required.
·        
Support periodic review of Security risk rating
in accordance with Core Security Requirements.
·        
Continuously monitor the prevailing security
context in the field and generate timely updates as required
·        
Support the development of security plans and
standard operating procedures, and monitor compliance
Security Operations: Provide support and coordination to
Response Security Coordinator or Country Security Manager as may be requested
Networking and External Liaison/Engagement
·        
Provide calendar and travel coordination support
to Response Security Coordinator
·        
Provide Coordination of security support to the
Response High Profile Visitors when required.
·        
Provide coordination and attend meetings with
other INGO/UN partners in the Response as may be delegated from time to time.
Capacity Building and Technical Training
·        
Keep calendar of training events
·        
The jobholder will coordinate and at times
conduct security orientation and/or briefings for visitors as requested
·        
Prepare and collate training materials
·        
Coordinate communication with participants
·        
Provide admin and logistical support for venues
and materials
Reporting and Documentation:
·        
Keep a log and report of all security incidences
and coordinate the follow-up
·        
Send regular security reports to Response
Coordinator as per WV policy



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the World Vision Field
Security Assistant job opportunity should hold a Diploma in security management
or equivalent qualification or experience in a related field
·        
No previous criminal record or convictions
·        
Exposure to the security field (public, private,
government or NGO sectors).
·        
Possess radio and/or Satellite phone
communications experience, operations and management
·        
Excellent verbal communication skills in English
·        
Previous experience in providing administrative
support to security function
·        
Ability to work effectively under pressureDemonstrated
administrative and coordination skills
·        
Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in
Word, Excel, PowerPoint
·        
Demonstrated personal values, attitudes and
behaviors that are consistent with World Vision Core Values
·        
Previous security-related work experience
·        
Has a working knowledge of core humanitarian
principals as it is vital to WVI OCS function.
