March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet
publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising
and distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with
an expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).
Summary: The Driver will be in charge of
transporting staff and company products to assigned destinations and ensure the vehicles are kept in good working conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct
daily transport operation duties as assigned to meet all movement demands of
the department.
Achieve
all departmental vehicle demands in a cost effective manner and proper vehicle
usage to ensure consistency and all transport requirements are met.
Drive
the company vehicle responsibly in respect to all pre-set traffic laws and
regulations to avoid costly penalties.
Ensure
excellent communication on all transport and vehicle related issues to achieve
proper coordination of needs and achieve all expectations as required.
Ensure
an excellent company image is maintained in the market through responsible
driving habits.
Ensure
proper documentation of all movements that involve the company vehicle for easy
follow up and monitoring by the Administrative officer so as to have priorities
ranked effectively.
Ensure
the company vehicle has all the required documentation at all times as required
by the rules and regulations i.e. log book, road license, insurance and parking
license to achieve legality on the road and avoid penalties.
Skills and Experience:
The
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Uganda Certificate of Education
(U.C.E).
A
minimum of three years’ driving experience in a commercial environment.
The
applicant must possess a valid driving permit with at least 3 classes; B,CM, DL
and DM.
Basic
knowledge of vehicle mechanism.
Good
knowledge of Uganda’s road network.
Excellent
communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
Self-drive
and motivation to achieve the best results.
Good
appreciation of work practices, procedures and guidelines applicable to the
organization.
Proven
ability to write, read and speak English fluently
