About Us:
Community Health Alliance Uganda (CHAU), formerly the International
HIV/AIDS Alliance Uganda, is a national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)
which was registered in 2010. It works in partnership with other Community
based Organizations (CBOs)/ local NGOs to support community action on
integrated Sexual reproductive health and HIV/AIDS in Uganda. CHAU is an
affiliate and accredited to International HIV/AIDS Alliance as its Linking
Organization. This partnership facilitates CHAU to engage and collaborate with
IHAA’s global network which includes over 40 independent organizations spread
across the world. CHAU through its global strategic partnerships, is able learn
from and adapt international best practices and experiences to the local
context in the areas of organizational development, capacity building,
community systems strengthening, Advocacy and quality service delivery.
Job Summary: The District
Coordinator – TAFU Project will be tasked with the coordination of project
implementation in the respective district to enhance reduction in new HIV
infections and increased enrolment of children onto paediatric HIV care within
the districts of operation
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Supervise and provided technical assistance to
VHTs within district of operation in areas of paediatric HIV and ensuring that
they deliver on their target.
·        
Develop and maintain strategic community
partnerships necessary to achieve community engagement activities.
·        
Work with VHTs including other partners to
mobilize the communities in order to identify and increase the number of
children living with HIV enrolled into care and support
·        
Spear head identification of pregnant women and
ensure that they are enrolled on to the EMTCT program.
·        
Sensitize various community leaders, parents and
groups on the importance of HIV paediatric care and EMTCT in order to foster
positive attitudes.
·        
Support the formation of VSLAs and/or strengthen
existing VSLAs for households of people living with HIV by ensuring that they
are operational and functional for economic empowerment.
·        
Develop and implement monthly performance plans
for the VHTs.
·        
Conduct appropriate training and on job
mentorshlp for skills development for VHTs in mobilization and HIV programming
for children and households affected and inflicted with HIV.
·        
Write project reports and share them regularly
as per project requirements
·        
Work closely with the district health team to
ensure that the district coordination meetings are held to appraise project
performance.
·        
Conduct a mapping exercise in order to identify
health facilities and document an effective referral system between the
communities and facilities.
·        
Will be in charge of security of CHAU Assets and
inventories within the district of operation.
·        
Work closely with the Team leads Communications
and Community Engagement, Advocacy and BCC ensuring that community radio talk
shows are held.
·        
Any other duties as may be assigned



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Degree in
Community Development, Social Work and Social, Administration, Social Sciences
or an equivalent
·        
Competencies: Analytical,
coordination/networking, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills,
High ethical and integrity standards, computer proficiency skills, Results and
team-oriented, proven ability to produce high quality reports/documents.
