specialist expertise in Agriculture, Renewable Energy and Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene to contribute to solving some of the leading problems facing the world
today. SNV has been working in Uganda since 1989 and is currently working in
108 districts. Our advisory services are in line with Ugandan policies and are
tailored for specific Ugandan organisations, enterprises and districts. SNV
would like to implement an anticipated WASH Programme.
About USAID ICAN Program:
The purpose of the ICAN activity is to sustainably enhance the
resilience of vulnerable households by increasing economic opportunities for
low-income households, improving nutrition with a focus on women and children,
and strengthening community and local governance. Key to the ICAN activity’s
success will be its strategic linkages, coordination and collaboration with
other USAID activities by identifying common platforms and intersection points
between activities, connecting targeted households and communities with other
Feed the Future (FTF) value chain and nutrition-related interventions as well
as other USAID household vulnerability graduation interventions. The award will
also integrate cross-cutting objectives, including gender and women’s
empowerment, nutrition-sensitive agriculture, and youth and WASH.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The applicant must hold a Master’s Degree in
International Development, Agriculture, Economics, Public Health, Nutrition, or
related field of study or equivalent experience;
·        
At least five years or more of progressively
responsible work experience in managing or implementing development programs
preferably in Africa;
·        
Expertise and experience implementing complex
donor funded gender aware nutrition sensitive agriculture programs;
·        
Excellent communication (writing and oral)
skills, presentation and debating skills with experience in profiling an
organization in an international setting;
·        
Excellent international networks and engagement
within global agriculture and nutrition networks;
·        
Previous exposure and experience working with
sustainable and climate smart agricultural (CSA) practices, resilient food
systems, and market driven agricultural value chains;
·        
Experience with behavior change communications
campaigns to improve dietary diversity and improve health and nutrition
outcomes;
·        
Experience in Uganda preferred (familiarity with
FTF zone of influence and districts);
·        
Demonstrated organizational skills and a strong
track record in meeting deliverables and deadlines
