Living Goods not only grows its own business operations, but also dramatically
magnifies its impact through large-scale partnerships. Living Goods supports networks of ‘Avon-like’
micro-entrepreneurs who go door-to-door teaching families how to improve their
health and wealth while selling affordable, high-impact products like basic
medicines, fortified foods, water filters, clean cook stoves, and solar lights.
Officers will be an integral part of the Expansion team. The jobholder will be
reporting the to the Expansion Manager and working closely with the Expansion
Analyst you will be responsible for the initial collection of village/household
information which will inform where Living Goods will operate in the future. There
are two positions available. One will be Kampala based (with potential for
relocation at a later date) and the other based out of the Living Goods office
in Mbale. Both positions require extensive field travel.
Responsibilities:
Visit villages in the areas assigned and conduct
interviews
Collect data in the preloaded form on a smart
phone for every village visited
Ensure accuracy of the data collected by
crosschecking errors at all stages of data input to include visits to local
area facilities e.g. health centers to verify distance from village
Travel to mapping areas on a weekly basis with
the possibility of staying up to 4 or 5 days per week in the remote field
Work hand in hand with the expansion manager to
ensure proper mapping of identified areas.
Perform any other duties as assigned by your
supervisor from time to time including supporting recruitment of CHPs when
needed
Experience:
The ideal candidate should be a university
graduate.
Experience working in the field
Relevant experience in data collection a strong
plus
At least a credit pass in Mathematics and
English at O Level
Excellent communication skills
High degree of honesty and integrity
Ability to cope with unpredictable field
conditions
Familiarity with basic smart phone applications
Fluency in English and at least one or more
local languages with a preference for languages spoken in Eastern Uganda
commensurate with experience including health insurance and bonus opportunity.
