Responsibilities:
Offer support and ensure efficient logistics and
asset management services, focusing on achievement of the following results:
Assist in the implementation of a coherent
logistical supply system in accordance with UNOPS PSC and mission systems
Provide support in management of the movement of
personnel and equipment as required by the ESB.
Carry out logistical services in accordance with
UNOPS, ESB and mission rules and regulations.
Support management of all incoming and outgoing
cargo
Maintain the asset management inventory in line
with UNOPS PSC Asset Management Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Update asset information on the oneUNOPS asset
management module
Manage the vehicle pool for providing
transportation services as required by the office, and to meet logistical
requirements
Conduct weekly and monthly checks on all UNOPS
ESB vehicles and preparation of monthly vehicle trip summaries
Oversee maintenance and servicing of vehicles
with mission workshop and update details of services into vehicle files
Assist with any procurement of items as directed
by Procurement SSO or Logistics SSO
Ensures the safe and proper storage of all UNOPS
PSC assets at ESB as per the UNOPS ESB Warehouse management SOP
Perform any other related duties as required.
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the United Nations
Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Senior Logistics Associate job placement
should hold a first level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Business
Administration, Logistics, Procurement/Supply Chain or other relevant field
combined with minimum of 3 years’ of relevant experience OR secondary Education
is required combined with minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience
At least three (3) years of experience in
logistics, cargo movement, freight forwarding, procurement, administration or
relevant fields is required
Hold a clean and valid national driver’s license
is required for use of a manual driven vehicle
Experience with UN/UNOPS policies and procedures
is desired
Previous experience in the use of computers,
office software including MS Office is desired
Language:
Fluency in English (speaking, writing and reading) is required.
Knowledge of another UN official language is
desired.
