now seeks to recruit on behalf of its valued Client in the Agricultural
Industry.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
Verify the authenticity and accuracy of payments:
  • The jobholder will code payment vouchers
    before they are posted
  • Check journal vouchers before they are
    posted
  • Make required journal vouchers
  • Ensure that authorization procedures are
    consistently followed and transaction approved in accordance with company
    policy.
Manage debtors and creditors accounts in line with the Company’s
finance policy and guidelines:
  • The incumbent will also ensure that the
    supplier’s and contractor’s payments are calculated on time for payment.
  • Check Debtors and Creditors accounts to
    ensure that the balances are correct.
  • Follow-up on recovery of debts and any
    reimbursements especially from the insurance
Monitor the preparation of the payroll in line with the finance
guidelines and policies:
  • Ensure payrolls and master rolls are
    prepared on time for payment
  • Follow-up on timely submission of
    statutory reports like VAT, PAYE, and NSSF
  • Follow-up on recovery of debts from staff
    (Special Advance)
Supervise, and manage the performance of subordinate staff in line with
the Company’s financial guidelines and Human Resource Manual:
  • Prepare work plans and set performance
    targets for subordinate staff.
  • Assess staff requirements and initiate /or
    make recommendations of filling the gap
  • Tasked with setting up an enabling
    environment for staff performance, coach and mentor staff
  • Carry out scheduled staff appraisals.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The Senior Accountant must hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business
    administration or Financial Management with accounting option from a
    recognized institution
  • Professional qualification or part
    qualification (ACCA or CPA)
  • At least three years of related working
    experience in accounting and finance preferably in an manufacturing
    organization
  • Knowledge of; Computerized accounting
    systems like Tally, SUN, & Pastel
  • IAS/IFRS accounting requirements and
    budgeting
  • Computer literacy i.e. Ms Excel, Access,
    Word and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of procurement
    procedures
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven integrity
  • Good computer skills
