Exchange. The head offices are located at 14Km on Entebbe Road, with a factory
situated at Kamonkoli in Eastern Uganda and another at Mbarara Sales Outlet.
Job Summary: The Research
and Development Officer will work in liaison with the quality, marketing and
production teams in planning, initiating product development strategies,
testing and application of finished products, improving on already existing
products and research on clay products to come up with new product design that
meets the customer requirements.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
·        
Initiate product development strategies to meet
customers’ demands.
·        
Taking lead in improving on existing designs.
·        
Tasked with developing and initiating
application tests for the finished products.
·        
Initiating new product design and tests.
·        
Researching on clay products / raw material and
coming tip with new product design and tests.
·        
Direct technicians and other workers in testing
and analyzing components and the physical properties of materials.
·        
Assesses market competition by comparing the
products.
·        
To ensure that data is properly recorded,
processed and entered in the daily report.
·        
Work in accordance with Uganda Clay’s Quality
and Safety procedures at all times.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The Research and Development Officer must
possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or
Ceramics.
·        
A minimum of three years’ experience in a
manufacturing company.
·        
Must have thorough knowledge of clay products.
·        
Strong MS Office proficiency is a MUST.
