for protecting, preserving, and promoting the heritage of Buganda’s culture.
Buganda in Kampala has been referred to as the home of one of the world’s
richest cultural sites.
Manager will be responsible for coordinating a series of activities at the
Cultural sites and formulating, administering organization policies by performing
the following duties personally or through subordinate managers or Officers.
Responsibilities:
Improve the operational systems, processes and
policies in support of BHTB’s mission — specifically, support better
management reporting, information flow and management, business process and
organizational planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and
efficiency of Support Services (at the sites), through improvements to each
function as well as coordination and communication between support and business
functions.
Managing development budgets.
Updating and maintaining statistical and
financial records
Developing new facilities and maintaining the
already existing facilities.
Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and
Safety legislations.
Maintaining customer service standards set by
BHTB.
Dealing with inquiries, complaints and
emergencies.
Developing heritage attractions to enhance and
increase visitor access and interest.
Organize promotions, discount days etc to
increase visitor flow.
Promoting and marketing the sites.
Play a significant role in long-term planning,
including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Oversee overall financial management, planning,
systems and controls.
Management of agency budget in coordination with
the Executive Director.
Development of individual program budgets
In charge of invoicing to funding sources,
including calculation of completed units of service.
Payroll management, including tabulation of
accrued employee benefits.
Tasked with the disbursement of checks for
agency expenses.
Organization of fiscal documents.
Regular meetings with Executive Director around
fiscal planning.
Supervise and coach office manager on a weekly
basis.
Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost.
Experience:
The jobholder must hold a University degree
preferably in Business Administration
A qualification in Human Resource or Industrial
Psychology is an added advantage.
At least three years of professional experience
in General Management and Administration preferably in the hospitality
industry.
Strong knowledge of tourism industry
Knowledge of the Buganda region
Good customer service skills
Administrative skills
Strong project management/organizational skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good inter-personal and team building skills
Honesty and Integrity Results-oriented.
Computer literacy skills i.e. familiarity with
MS Office programs.
