DFCU bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of
innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth
Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of
Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of
Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in
DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners
with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to
support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not
appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Job Summary: The
Manager-Enterprise will manage and champion the implementation of growth and
retention strategies in the segments of Enterprise Banking within the Business
Banking threshold.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Responsible
    for the overall performance of the Enterprise Banking value proposition
  • Tasked
    with driving sales initiatives in line with the Business Banking Strategy.
  • Acquire
    and build relationships with profitable Enterprise Banking customers
  • Keenly
    analyse, develop and implement comprehensive liability strategy and
    optimizing the Enterprise Banking balance sheet
  • Grow
    cross selling opportunities offered under the Enterprise Banking value
    proposition in the bank and expand share of wallet.
  • Pro-actively
    and regularly improve value proposition and product offering
  • Keenly
    review the total performance of the Enterprise Banking portfolio on a
    daily, weekly and monthly basis and develop short term strategy shifts to
    ensure that overall performance targets can be met.
  • Work
    closely with the branch distribution team to develop customer approaches
    for individual enterprise relationships, setting size of wallet and
    cross-sell targets, and providing regular coaching and feedback to them on
    their progress towards achieving objectives.
  • Mentor
    and coach branch staff on credit process and criteria to ensure that they
    become experts at developing proposals for potential customers.
  • Provide
    input to the Cluster Managers into any new training requirements that have
    been identified for business bankers in the branch network.
  • Identify
    areas of improvement for existing value proposition, products and
    processes, and create recommendations for Consumer Banking leadership on
    how to implement such improvements
  • Maintain
    a quality asset book and support the recovery and regularizing of
    Enterprise Banking loans in arrears.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicant for the DFCU Bank
    Manager-Enterprise job opportunity must hold a Degree level education.
  • A
    minimum of five years of banking experience.
  • Solutions
    oriented i.e. strong ability to provide financial solutions to
    customers.
  • Strong
    sales/networking & relationship Management background.
  • Excellent
    verbal and written communication
    and presentation skills
  • Strong
    credit and portfolio management skills
  • Good
    judgment and decision ability.
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of the SME Segment.
  • Strong
    Industry and business awareness
  • Extensive
    knowledge of the Bank’s products, systems, consumer banking
    goals/objectives
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and negotiating skills required
  • Good
    leadership and managerial skills.
  • Excellent
    problem solving and decision making skills
  • Good
    organizational and team work skills.
