About UNRA:
The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) was established by an Act of
Parliament; The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became
operational on 1st July 2008.  The
mandate of UNRA is to develop and maintain the national roads network, advise
Government on general roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport
concerns, among others.
Job Summary: The Weighbridge
Technician (Civil) will be responsible for the execution of civil maintenance
and improvement works for road infrastructure protection facilities (weigh
stations, traffic and road safety monitoring gadgets) and ferry facilities
under the Directorate of Road Infrastructure Protection.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
·        
Draft designs for engineering installations
using Computer Aided Design tools;
·        
Supervise civil works for maintenance of
infrastructure protection and ferry facilities in accordance with standards,
specifications and best practice;
·        
Prepare progress reports on civil maintenance
and improvement activities and submit to the Infrastructure Civil Engineer;
·        
Participate in internal and external stakeholder
engagements to ensure proper use infrastructure protection and ferry
facilities;
·        
Maintain operational health and safety
standards.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The applicant for the UNRA Weighbridge
Technician (Civil) career opportunity should hold a Higher National Diploma in
Construction;
·        
At least two years of hands-on experience in the
field of construction;
·        
Computer literacy skills
·        
Knowledge in the use of Computer Aided Design
(AutoCAD, ArchiCAD).
·        
High levels of integrity;
·        
Ability to work as part of a team;
·        
Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relations;
·        
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
·        
Ability to deliver accurate results in a timely
manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
·        
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
