Job Summary: The Program Officer
will primarily manage program information and communication and administrative
functions of the Sustainable Outcomes Project. The Program Officer will also
support the Senior Program Manager to conduct assessments using the CRS HOCAI
tool and support partners to develop and manage their capacity strengthening
plans, track and write progress report. The Program officer will lead the
programmatic IT needs of the project including the creation of GPS beneficiary
maps for tracking beneficiary and field program activities and provide visual
representation of data.
Responsibilities:
The jobholder will assist the Senior Program
Manager to conduct organizational capacity assessments of implementing partner
staff and coordinate capacity building interventions within the overall
capacity building plan
Gather all relevant documents (policies,
guidelines, protocols, tools, manuals) in all SOCY technical areas and create a
repository of information (both electronic and manual) to guide program
implementation
Collect data using ArcGIS and create beneficiary
maps for tracking beneficiary and field program activities and provide visual
representation of data.
Manage the SOCY website and regularly update
content, monitor the system administration and maintenance
Ensure that information about SOCY is regularly
updated on CRS global systems including Gateway
Stay abreast with all on-going events, tasks
within CRS, USAID and stakeholders and follow up with the relevant staff to
ensure timely response and compliance
Coordinate with relevant CRS-SOCY staff, IPs and
CSOs, to schedule and organize visits by the donor, CRS regional and HQ staff
and compile program briefs and any other relevant information required prior to
the visit
Ensure a coordinated and organized way to track
and manage internally generated information (trip/training reports, project
pictures, success stories etc)
Conduct administrative and financial duties
related to all aspects of project implementation including arrange all necessary
logistics for program activities, such as workshops, trainings, booking
accommodation for participants, photocopying project materials, arranging
transport, and managing the supply of office stationery
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Catholic Relief
Services (CRS) Program Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Information Technology, Administration, Social Sciences, Business Management
or equivalent.
Previous exposure and experience in a similar position,
preferably with an International NGO or UN Agency with a good understanding of
project management, Administration, HR and Finance.
Ability to plan resources and actions to ensure
timely and efficient service delivery.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast- paced
office environment, ability to assimilate and analyze situations, plus skills
in handling competing work priorities
Ability to interact effectively with internal
and external counterparts at various levels.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software
(Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet) required.
Desire to work effectively in a team oriented
environment with minimum supervision
