Job Title:       Procurement Officer

About SolarNow:
SolarNow is an asset financing company that sells high quality solar
product and appliances to households and businesses in Uganda. The company
started in 2011 and has since opened 46 branches throughout Uganda, employs
around 600 people.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
·        
Sourcing Local Supplier Identification:
·        
You will find and review potential suppliers of
stock items to be bought locally to ensure quality products from suppliers
under good terms, e.g. Credit. You present your review in a structured report
to enable effective decision making.
·        
Order Management:
o  
Ordering Placing (Local and
International): The jobholder will get quotes from suppliers for
orders, based on the forecast, and ensure accurate paperwork to place orders
within a risk free sourcing environment
o  
Order Inspection, Production and
Shipping: The jobholder will work with the supplier and chosen
shipping agents to ensure no delays and correct paperwork during production,
inspection and shipping. The incumbent will also present your review of
shipping in a structured report to enable effective decision making.

Reporting: You prepare your weekly
report on time to enable accurate tracking of your work and the sourcing team
Key Performance Indicators:
·        
Clear supplier vetting forms/report to enable
decision.
·        
No paperwork issues
·        
Orders placed as per forecast and payment
overview
·        
Clear Shipping analysis
·        
Weekly reports – time and quality info



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the SolarNow Procurement
Officer career opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in
Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management OR Business Administration.
·        
CIPS is an added advantage.
·        
One year of related experience in procurement
working in a reputable organisation.
·        
Good and consistent performance record.
·        
Highly motivated and passionate about work.
·        
Pay keen attention to detail.
·        
Able to work with minimum supervision.
·        
Good communication & reporting skills.
·        
Team player / People Management skills.
·        
Computer literacy. ie Word & Excel.
