About UCU:
Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker
Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker
Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history
from 1913-1997. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
·        
The Human Resource Officer will be tasked with initiating,
designing and implementing Human Recourse policies, regulations and practices
in the College.
·        
In charge of preparing plans and budgets of the
Human Resource Unit.
·        
Tasked with managing and maintaining the payroll
and staff control system.
·        
Preparation of contracts for staff.
·        
Supervising the up-to-date and safe custody of
human resource and other relevant records or documents.
·        
Advising and counseling staff on career
development.
·        
Providing technical support to departments on
the interpretation and implementation of College policies regulations regarding
Human Resources.
·        
Processing submissions for terminal benefits.
·        
Managing and guiding the staff appraisal and
evaluation process.
·        
Assisting the University Secretary is
preparation of the recruitment and selection process.
·        
Ensure compliance to labour laws and procedures.
·        
Any other duties as may be assigned by the
supervisor.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate must hold a Post Graduate
Diploma in Human Resource Management, Masters in Human Resource will be an
added advantage.
·        
Bachelor’s Degree in either Human Resource
Management, Organizational Psychology, Public Administration or Social Sciences
from a recognized Institution.
·        
A minimum of two (2) years working experience in
a Human Resource Office;
·        
Must be conversant with Uganda Labor Laws
·        
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Power
Point and Internet)
·        
Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills especially when
dealing with students, staff and visitors
·        
Must be a person of high integrity with an
excellent working ethic
·        
Must be a committed Christian
