The National Animal Genetics Resources Centre and Data Bank,
(NAGRC&DB) is a body corporate under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal
Industry and Fisheries whose mandate is to take a leading role in establishing
a comprehensive National Animal Breeding Programme in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Assistant
Inventory Management Officer will receive, issue and record stores in the organisation
Key Duties and
Receives, keeps retrieves and issues stores in
accordance with the established procedures
Receives and compiles requisition orders
The jobholder verifies invoices against goods
received notes
Posts and maintains stores records
Conducts stock-taking and stock- inspection
Records invoices and supplies
Regularly checks and verifies invoices and
issues notes
Ensures proper storage of stock
Supervises vehicle loading and offloading
Takes stock of stores
Records damaged, obsolete and expired items.
Maintains stores records
Issues stock in accordance with the established
The jobholder controls and maintains inventory
Follows up on orders to ensure that materials
are delivered on promised dates
Manages the security of the store

Qualifications, Skills and
The applicant should preferably hold a Diploma
in Stores/Supplies Management or Procurement or Equivalent Qualification from a
recognized Institution;
At least two years’ experience as a Stores
Assistant gained from Government for a reputable organization/ institution is a
Age Limit: 25-55 years
