National Roads Authority (UNRA)
Parliament; The Uganda National Authority Act, No. 15 of 2006. UNRA became
operational on 1st July 2008. The
mandate of UNRA is to develop and maintain the national roads network, advise
Government on general roads policy and contribute to addressing of transport
concerns, among others.
Attendant will assist in the operation and maintenance of the ferry. The Ferry
Attendant will also assist the operator in directing the operation of the
ferry.
Responsibilities:
Assist in carrying out daily
diagnosis/assessment of the ferry using the standard checklist;
Ensure cleanliness of the ferry and landing;
Assist in ensuring security of the ferry and its
component parts;
Secure passengers’ property while in transit;
Ensure safety of passengers on the ferry;
Perform ferry docking procedures;
Guide the loading and unloading of both vehicle
and passenger traffic.
Experience:
The applicant for the UNRA Ferry Attendant career
opportunity should hold an Advanced Level Certificate and possession of a
rating certificate forming part of navigational watch.
At least three years’ as a Boatswain or Able-bodied
Seafarer.
High level of integrity;
Good track record of outstanding performance;
Ability to work as part of a team;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal, particularly
staff/management relations;
Ability to deliver accurate results in a timely
manner and in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks.
