Manager-Enterprise Marketing

Pricing Specialist will define and implement MTN Uganda Enterprise Business
Unit overall pricing strategy in consultation with the Segment Managers and
other business stakeholders with the aim of providing optimal pricing
structures across the Enterprise product portfolio and maintain profitability in
line with company strategy.
Responsibilities:
Define products and services pricing strategy
and whilst ensuring the commercial profitability of the organization.
Align operational Pricing objectives for the
segments with the overall business strategy, with input from products and
services, BI, Marketing Segments, Enterprise Sales, S&D and Finance.
Design pricing models, ensuring that product
pricing and pricing plans are
integrated and consistent.
Provide input for Pricing of products and
services on a case by case basis,
Analyze competitor pricing strategies and practices, and recommend
appropriate actions and plans to maintain competitiveness and counter
competitor activity
Conduct financial analysis and models for all
promotions and price reductions to aid decision making.
Track and analyze the performance of products
and services in collaboration with the
business analysts and Product &
Services and make recommendations related to pricing optimization to
improve take up, usage and profitability
Monitor MTN Enterprise customer performance on a month-to-month
basis, provide consumer behavior
insights, reviews and define discount profiles with a view to deliver on
the key objectives i.e. Network
Utilization optimization, Revenue optimization
and increased MOUs.
Support Segment Managers and Products &
Services areas in the development of new value
propositions, providing pricing insight and pricing modelling scenarios.
Detect and keep track of key market trends in pricing in line with
the business strategy
Contribute towards the long-term pricing
forecasts and predictions (2-5 years).
Translate annual business plan objectives into
appropriate pricing structures across different segments and product sets
Translate Pricing requirements into operational implementation
plans
Consider local and global conditions, as well as competitor activities
to ensure competitive advantage.
Ensure simplicity of pricing and minimize the risk of
cannibalization in the price plan portfolio.
Develop pricing models to evaluate the financial impact viability of
product price plans.
Assess the impact of pricing plans on profitability and submit
pricing analysis for approval.
Assess optimal pricing structures and levels per product offering
and segment.
Ensure pricing consistency with business objectives across the
business.
Ensure accurate tariff management which includes a repository of
tariffs and consistent process to align
records with Legal and Regulatory, Revenue Assurance and product and services.
Draft tariff change notifications to the regulator on any
related tariff changes
Support Enterprise Business Unit Analysis in
line with the methodology and guidelines
Support with fine tuning policies, processes and
systems in line with changing work
practices
Determine, document, and review requirements for
projects within the scope of the value
stream or impacting processes and systems
Design, analyse and document workflow and make
appropriate recommendations that will
positively impact operational effectiveness
Identify Business Improvement and optimization
opportunities that will result in
improvement of process performance
Ensure that benchmarking is conducted with other
companies and organizations within and
outside the industry.
Construct business cases for initiations
proposed by the business. Research and
consider best practice, local conditions, trends, as well as competitor activity
Identify and implement innovative ways to use
minimum resources to achieve maximum
outputs
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the MTN Uganda
Enterprise Pricing Specialist job placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree
in Statistics or Commerce, or MBA with
a bias in Finance
Proficient with statistical applications such as SPSS, EPINFO
A minimum of two years’ experience in Pricing
analysis, financial modeling and product
evaluation
Proficient with MS Office application especially
Excel and Power Point
Prior experience in the telecom industry will be
an added advantage
Good relationship management skills
Scanning skills- to set for new ideas, trends
and principles
Strong can do attitude combined with an ability
to use minimum resources to get maximum
outputs
Systems thinking- understanding the “Big picture”
Business acumen- understanding of the business
as a whole
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to meet deadlines
