Job Summary: The Deputy
Technical Manager/ Breeding will assist the Technical Manager/ Breeding and
Reproduction in the acquisition, application and management of appropriate
breeding and reproduction technologies to enhance the animal quality and
multiply its numbers

Supports the planning and supervision of
implementation of unit budgets, projects and programs, Sources for and monitors
application of animal breeding technologies and advices the Technical Manager/

Reviews, interprets and reports on recorded data
arising out of animal breeding and activities,

Monitors and reports on compliance of animal
breeding centres to breeding standards and practices and advises on appropriate
action where breaches occur

Evaluates and makes recommendations on new
breeding bio-technologies genetic materials,

Monitors, evaluates and reports on rearing of
sire studs for production of semen and dams for artificial insemination to
multiply breeding stock.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

The applicant should preferably hold a Master’s
degree in Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Science or their equivalent from a
recognized degree awarding institution.

breeding from a recognized institution
