innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth
Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of
Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of
Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in
DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners
with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to
support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not
appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Analysis Officer will get data from
primary and secondary sources and maintain a database to optimize efficiency.
The jobholder will analyse and interpret data into meaningful information to
support the decision making process. The incumbent will also work in
liaison with management to identify
information needs / gap. The jobholder will extract and re-organize data to
respond to user specific requirements. The Data Analysis Officer will
also build a knowledge base of the
market for reference. The incumbent will be tasked with monitoring performance
of data systems and make value-add recommendation.
Responsibilities:
- The
Data Analysis Officer will be mining and interpreting data to identify opportunities for
business growth. - Tasked
with management reporting working with reporting and statistical packages. - In
charge of designing and / or redesigning management reports to
improve relevance of reports. - Identify
areas of improvement and advise Management. - Report
to the managing director regularly on progress of assigned activities.
Experience:
- The applicant for the DFCU Bank Data
Analysis Officer job opportunity must hold a University degree in
Statistics, numerical bias degree or equivalent. A Master’s degree or
professional qualification in Accounting is an added advantage. - A minimum of three years of related experience preferably in a research
organisation, focusing on data analysis, research or financial
analysis. - Ability
to extract or collect, analyses, re-organise and disseminate significant
amounts of data identify interpret financial and risk reports. - Ability
to analyse business opportunities and make value-adding recommendations. - Logical
thinking with creative problem-solving ability. - Keen
attention to detail and accuracy. - Excellent
communication and negotiation skills. - Commercial
awareness, fast learning curve for different industries. - Excellent
organisational, planning and time management skills. - Ability
to work well with others.
