Job Summary: The
Construction Supervisor will primarily manage the construction of structures at
field level. The incumbent will also ensure that construction works are
professionally done in accordance to the designs and specifications with
regards to quality, cost, time, and safety. This involves close liaison with
logistics, procurement, and senior program officers in the program, as well as
coordination with other operational agencies in our areas. The role will require
approximately 60% time in the field site and 40% time at the field offices.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the Save the Children
Construction Supervisor job placement should hold a BSc in Civil and Building
engineering or any relevant discipline.
·        
At least four years of significant experience in
handling complex situation or conflict/post conflict situations in a reputable
organisation, preferably an international NGO
·        
Previous exposure and experience of working with
local partners and District Local Government in Humanitarian interventions
·        
Ability to speak local language and directly
interact with target group will be an added advantage
·        
Strong analytical skills and strategic planning
abilities.
·        
Ability to establish and maintain conducive
collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team.
·        
Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach
areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
·        
Computer literacy and excellent documentation
skills are a must.
·        
Availability and willingness to work extra hours
during peak times of humanitarian responses.
·        
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability
to work well in an international environment with people from diverse
backgrounds and cultures
·        
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
including influencing, negotiation and coaching
·        
Excellent time management and planning capacity
