ECCDiE Specialist/ Emergency Response Manager (ERM)

Assistant will Act as a liaison for financial management and system development
in consultation with the supervisor. He/she will assist the Project Coordinator
to manage the project budget in line with set policies and guidelines
Reconcile the receipt record with cash receipts
and the bank deposit slip
Prepare and enter Journal entries into the GL
for cash receipts and inter-company charges
Prepare cheques to accompany the corresponding
payment – Voucher
Stamp payment vouchers and all supporting
documents as ’paid’ as per the Uganda operation Manual.
Enter all transactions into the GL as per Plan
International’s procedures
Prepare funds transfer request for the PA
Maintain payment Voucher files in numerical
order.
Proper custody of the embossing machine and paid
stamps
Generate detailed transaction report for program
staffs to update their PCC forms.
Reconcile inter-company charges with accounts at
country office
Prepare the monthly payroll, effect staff salary
payments to their respective accounts and retain control of the payroll
software in line with Plan’s policies

Experience:
The applicant for the Plan International
Accounts Assistant Early Childhood Care & Development in Emergency (ECCDiE
job vacancy must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business
Administration with accounting major
Part professional qualification in accountancy
e.g. CPA or ACCA,
At least two years of related experience as an
Assistant Accountant in a busy organization
Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency in
working with spreadsheets
Previous experience working with an NGO will be
an added advantage
Extensive knowledge of an accounting software
package such as SUN, Tally, Sage desirable
Keen interest in addressing children, family and
community development issues
High level of integrity and accuracy
Show commitment to meeting deadlines
Good team player
