partner in implementing the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Health
Services in East Central Uganda Project (USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose aim is
to support the implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment in regional
health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The five-year project
targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated total population
of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of quality health,
nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.
will provide financial support to program activities including monitoring,
reporting and enforcement of financial policies, procedures and internal
controls.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will manage the accounting system
for the CDFU/USAID RHITES E-C Activity
Prepare monthly budgets and cash flows, monitor
receipts, payments, banking and withdrawals
Carry out timely bank reconciliations and
analysis & prepare timely financial reports
Orient new technical staff on financial
procedures/guidelines.
Ensure statutory requirements like NSSF, PAYE
are properly calculated and submitted to relevant authorities on time
Prepare staff salaries and other allowances on
monthly basis or as appropriate
Experience:
The ideal candidate for the USAID Project Accountant
job opportunity should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce,
Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting Option or Finance) or equivalent
from a recognized institution, must have ACCA Professional qualification; CPA
and other Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
A minimum of five years’ experience in the field
of accounting preferably in NGOs, good interpersonal skills, integrity and
strong communication skills.
Computer literacy i.e. knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint & Quick Books.
Extensive knowledge of USAID policies/
procedures is an added advantage.
Ability to speak and understand Lusoga or Luganda
local languages will be an added advantage.
