for profit health facilities.
Specialist is responsible for coordinate and monitor the implementation of all
project components of TB care at supported facilities including TB/HIV,
Childhood TB management, drug resistant TB surveillance and management, TB
Infection control, DOT strengthening, TB recording and reporting and the
application of continuous quality improvement (CQI) approaches to improve TB
care.
Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate provider skills strengthening
activities for all components of TB services at the project supported
hospitals - Offer technical support in the development
of TB infection control plans and capacity for infection control at
supported health facilities. - Establish and maintain a TB QI
collaborative database - Provide technical support, supervise, and
facilitate the hospital TB care teams to effectively implement and report
activities (including routine on-site and virtual support through
telephone, e-mail, etc.) - Develop TB M&E capacity for the
hospital TB care teams in collaboration with the District and Zonal TB and
Leprosy Supervisors - Prepare and submit quarterly and annual TB
activity progress reports - Regularly monitor the implementation of
planned activities through periodic consultations, progress review
meetings, reports review, and field visits; providing feedback for
improving performance - Carry out TB operational research
activities involving the project supported hospitals - Identify and document best practices
Experience:
- The applicant must hold an MBChB with
three years’ experience in managing HIV programs in Uganda, preferably in
the area of TB services or a Diploma in Clinical medicine with at least
five years experience in managing HIV programs in Uganda, preferably
supporting TB services - Knowledge of the current policy,
programming and practice trends in the field of TB. - Excellent written and oral communication
and interpersonal skills - Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
