Research and Market Development
Markets Authority Act Chapter 84 Laws of Uganda as a semi-autonomous body
responsible for the promotion, development and regulation of the capital
markets industry in Uganda.
and Market Development Officer will conduct research and activities aimed at
demonstrating the relevance of capital markets to the economy.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out research to support innovation
and demonstrate the relevance of capital markets to stake holders. - Undertake research and generate research
papers to support the Market Supervision function in market operations and
the Legal function in the review of regulations, guidelines and Stock
Exchange Rules; - Manage operational aspects of the CMA’s
Public education and Issuer education campaigns; - Offer secretarial support services for the
implementation of the capital markets master plan. This will include but
not be limited to: organizing stakeholder engagements; coordinating
consultants assignments/studies; - Perform any other related duties that may
be assigned from time to time.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Capital
Markets Authority (CMA) Research and Market Development Officer placement
should preferably hold an honors Bachelor’s degree from a recognized
institution/university in either Economics, Entrepreneurship, Commerce,
Statistics, Business Administration (Finance) or any other related
discipline. - Possession of a Post-Graduate academic or
professional qualification in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
- At least three years of post qualification work experience in research.
- Extensive
knowledge and interest in financial services in general, and in capital
markets in particular - Hands-on
experience in starting and /or managing a business is preferred
