Research and Market Development
Markets Authority Act Chapter 84 Laws of Uganda as a semi-autonomous body
responsible for the promotion, development and regulation of the capital
markets industry in Uganda.
Management Officer will be responsible for effective and appropriate management
of CMA’s records and provision of access to accurate records for operational
and strategic purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the management of
electronic and/or paper-based information; - The jobholder will also identify,
recommend and implement appropriate operational and strategic records
management resources; - Design and develop filing systems,
business classification schemes and undertake records survey; - Set up and review documenting records
systems, including the maintenance and management of active and archived
records; - Establish retention and disposal schedules
in accordance with applicable laws; - The jobholder will also develop, review
and implement records management policies, providing a framework to guide
staff in the management of their records and use of CMA’s records system; - Standardize information sources for CMA
and periodically train internal users on records management systems and
processes; - Manage the transition from paper to
electronic records management systems; - Quickly respond to information enquiries,
giving appropriate access to information in compliance with relevant
legislation and regulations; - Accurately record, file and distribute all
inward and outward official correspondence; - Identify records to be preserved for
historical and research purposes; - Safeguard and secure records by storing
them to film, disk or computer formats; and - Assist the Research & Market
Development Team in undertaking research and public education assignments.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Capital Markets
Authority (CMA) Records Management Officer job placement should preferably
hold an honors degree in Library & Information Science OR Information
Management Systems or any other relevant qualification from a recognized
University - A minimum of three years of post
qualification work experience in information and knowledge management as
well as experience in developing and implementing technology aided records
management systems. - Possess knowledge of records management standards and legislation relating to the current trends with proficiency in the use of computers and computer software relevant to the responsibility.
- Demonstrated use of an Electronic Document Management System is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to deal with internal and external clients;
- Influencing
and negotiation skills to persuade senior colleagues to follow agreed
record storing guidelines; - Problem
solving and analytical skills to develop an understanding of how
the organization works and build integrated records systems; - High
degree of flexibility to get involved in all aspects of information
generation and provision. - Self-driven
with ability to work with minimal supervision.
