Africa CUAMM
Children First: the first 1.000 days (2017-2022) in Oyam district in Uganda; as
part of this, a new 3 year project – Improving Maternal, Perinatal and Newborn
Health and Reducing Mortality in Oyam District, Uganda funded by Comic
Relief/Women and Children First UK is due to start.
Coordinator will be supervising, motivating and appraising the work of the
project staff (technically and administratively), ensure appropriate activity
planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning. Identify
implementation challenges both programmatic and administrative and rectify
and/or bring them to the attention of the CUAMM Oyam program manager. Support
project community-based and health systems strengthening activities and
monitoring, evaluation and learning. The incumbent will also be building
networks with district level authorities to support advocacy, lobbying and
dissemination of learning and promote sustainability. Ensure high quality and
timely project reporting.
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
relevant university degree in business administration, development
studies, economics, social work or equivalent qualification. - Masters level qualification or equivalent
experience will be an added asset as will experience of community-based
and/or health systems strengthening activities and experience of
monitoring, evaluation and learning. - Extensive knowledge of district health
management, programming for health projects and knowledge of the current
Uganda health policies and strategies and health structures. - Ability to write and communicate clearly
and train junior staff. - Computer knowledge.
- Motorcycle riding permit will be an asset.
