Advance Afrika is working in partnership with Teso Enterprise Consulting and Marketing Association (TECOMA); a nongovernmental organisation operating in Soroti
district. TECOMA is implementing
programs in Soroti district
that improve the livelihoods and health of vulnerable persons through promoting good practices such as Moringa production to improve their livelihood
and living conditions. The
project is called “Moringa Value Chain Development for food security and
sustainable livelihoods.”

Job Summary: The Project
Assistant performs
a variety of administrative,
coordination and logistical support services in the operations of the program, and assists
with information management.
The incumbent will assist the Program Manager in developing and monitoring
achievement of strategic and operational
plans

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Provide the Program Manager with
administrative support;
aiming to reduce his workload and provide valued, practical support - Act as the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for TECOMA’s
programs; ensuring that best practice
systems and procedures are developed and implemented - Assist the Programs Manager in Communications and Advocacy activities that will influence key stakeholders to support the
achievement of TECOMA’s strategic goals - Provide support in the development of new
business ideas and opportunities;
Help develop and implement strategic sales plans - Tasked with identifying and communicating client needs, competitors and general market trends
- Deliver sales presentations/proposals to prospective clients
- Responsible to track project changes and
produces updated site based schedules as agreed with program management.
Gathers all project information;
schedules data requests, assignments, tasks and project meetings. Works with project team
to understand and assist with tracking all work, task and project
assignments - Works closely with the Program Manager to
coordinate work activities, meet deadlines, and
provide support where needed; and perform other related duties in accordance with
instructions from team
members - Develop and manage client and agency relationships
- Responsible for assisting with sales/marketing and advertising campaigns
- Works closely with members of other host
organizations to
coordinate logistical
arrangements for workshops that take place in different regions - Prepares training/workshop/conference kits
or information packages
and sends material to participants
in a timely manner - Work closely with administration staff and other outside
agencies regarding conferences, meetings
and trainings on services including venue, travel, hotels, and Catering
Services staff or provision of any other logistics - Perform any other duties as prescribed by
the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s
degree in marketing,
Entrepreneurship, Business Administration or equivalent - At least three years’ experience in marketing
- Proven ability to produce results within
tight deadlines in a very busy environment - Ability to interact respectfully within a
geographically dispersed multicultural team composed of international and
national personnel - Excellent computer skills with expertise in excel, word,
PowerPoint and outlook - Ability to write clear and concise
reports; good spoken and written English - Analytical skills and decision making
ability - Prior experience working with partner
organizations
