Job Summary: The Principal
Environment Inspector will provide supervision, guideline and direction of
audits and inspections of the authority.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Develop mechanisms/strategies on
environmental inspections and audits ( environmental monitoring) - Tasked with monitoring the effects of the
environment of any activities carried out on land, water and air. - In charge of continuous assessment of
production and engineering processes of enterprises and their strategies
for minimization of waste generation at source. - Implementing training programs for
environmental auditors and inspectors. - In charge of managing inspections and
monitoring activities of inspectors and auditors from sectoral
inspections. - Ensuring restoration and compensation of
damage of liabilities caused. - Offering technical advice to the authority
on compliance with environmental laws and regulations. - Preparing and submitting periodic status
reports. - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the NEMA Principal
Environment Inspector job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in any of the
following: Physical or Natural Science, Mechanical Engineering,
Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering. - Possession
of a Master’s degree in any of the above - A minimum of eight years’ experience in
management of environmental related programme, four of which should have
been at senior level. - Good supervisory Skills;
- Strategic planning skills;
- Team building skills;
- Computer literacy skills
- Excellent Interpersonal, communication and
reporting skills;
