economics research institution. Its mandate is to provide research and other
forms of analytical support to Uganda’s development process. EPRC uses
resources from Government of Uganda and Think Tank Initiative (TTI) under the
International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
Analyst program offers career development opportunities to holders of masters
in economics, agricultural economics or related economic field.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out empirical economic policy
research and analysis - Actively engage in commissioned work for
and on behalf of the Centre - Based on research findings and sound
analysis, contribute to national policy discourse
Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the Research
Analyst position should be Ugandans who hold a Minimum of Master’s degree
(by coursework and research) in economics, agricultural economics or
related economic field from a recognized university; - At least two years’ experience in a reputable institution/ organization;
- Extensive knowledge of current global and
national economic issues; - Demonstrated ability to use STATA, EViews,
GAMS or GAUSS for data analysis; - Excellent writing and presentation skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good
communication skills; - Willingness and ability to work to tight
deadlines in a competitive environment; and - Impeccable level of integrity.
- Age: Between 28 – 35 years
