About US:
The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) was established
under the National Environment Act Cap. 153 to promote and ensure sound
environmental management practices for sustainable development in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Environment
Education Officer will support environment education for sustainable development.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Establish environmental education
    programmes in primary and secondary schools;
  • The incumbent will also obtain and collate
    data for environment education materials development and production;
  • Conduct information needs assessments and
    develop education and awareness materials for different audiences;
  • Develop feedback instruments and
    mechanisms;
  • Organize NEMA exhibition stalls for
    National World Environment Day Celebrations and other National and
    International Environment related events;
  • Produce tailored materials and
    publications for NEMA activities and programs;
  • Conduct environmental education and
    awareness;
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the NEMA
    Environment Education Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in any of the following fields: Education, Adult and Community
    Education; Industrial and Fine Art, Science Education from a recognized
    institution.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in environmental education
    activities.
  • Previous
    exposure and experience in community training and materials production is
    an added advantage.
  • Capacity
    to work with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good
    reporting skills
  • Ability
    to work under pressure and to make accurate and informed decisions.
