MSF/Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre
Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field
interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO)
collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging
diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical
research, field epidemiology and training.
Responsibilities:
- Tasked
with pharmacy management - Preparing
the national and international medical and laboratory material orders for
the studies in collaboration with the Principle Investigators (PIs) and
laboratory manager - Participates
in study protocol development and writing reports - Supports
the Principal Investigators in the planning of medical supply for
the study - Ensures
that all drugs and medical equipment are stored in a locked / secure
environment with access limited to essential and appropriate research
personnel. - Supervising
of pharmacy staff including but not limited to the assistant
pharmacist - Management
and accountability of investigational products in clinical trials - Tasked
with ensuring and training of other research centre staff on
pharmacovigilancy
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Pharmacy and registration with Uganda Pharmacy Council. - Prior working experience in research
institutions in general is desirable, clinical trials in particular,
knowledge of Good Clinical Practice is desirable. - Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Competencies: teamwork,
flexibility, commitment and service, knowledge of MS Office.
