Markets Authority Act Chapter 84 Laws of Uganda as a semi-autonomous body
responsible for the promotion, development and regulation of the capital
markets industry in Uganda.
Assistant will provide administrative support services to the Office of the CEO
and the Board Secretariat for the attainment of the Authority’s strategic
objectives
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will keep custody of all
Board and Senior Management papers, documents and minutes; - Prepare a schedule of Board, Committees
and Senior Management meetings and maintain a diary of meetings. - Take minutes of Senior Management
meetings; - Prepare attendance registers of Board
meetings and and prepare allowance requisition and reimbursement for
payments to Board; - The jobholder will also prepare schedules
of information that the Board or Sub Committees have requested from
management; - Prepare schedules of information
management needs to submit to Board or Committees for consideration; - Make travel arrangements for the CEO and
Board members; - Manage all correspondence and records to
and from the CEO; - Regularly review documentation to CEO and
route these to their respective department heads for action; - Read reports to CEO that require his input,
discuss with respective staff and prepare summary position for CEO; - Perform any other related duties that may
be assigned from time to time
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Capital
Markets Authority (CMA) Executive Assistant to the CEO job placement
should preferably hold a Bachelors’ degree in any relevant discipline - At least five years of experience in a
supervisory or administrative or Executive Assistant role in a large
private or public sector organization. - Possession of a post-graduate
qualification in a management related discipline will be an added
advantage. Interested persons with relevant demonstrable extensive hands
on experience without a Bachelor’s degree will be considered. - Excellent
oral and written communication competencies - Good
computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word Processing) - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills - Analytical
– ability to comprehend management and Board papers and other
correspondences - Organizational
skills– prioritizing, time management and ability to plan each day to meet
deadlines - High
levels of integrity and discretion - High
levels of self-initiative and problem solving skills - Courtesy,
tact and diplomacy
