Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Work in close collaboration with the
Laboratory Manager and Laboratory QA officer, conduct regular internal
audits, analyze system gaps and plan corrective measures to facilitate
compliance to ISO 15189:2012. - To serve as laboratory mentor in
supporting the laboratories work towards implementing effective quality
management systems and accreditation - The jobholder will also monitor and guide
timely implementation of action plans based on the results of the audits
to address gaps identified. - Working with the laboratory staff to write
and implement laboratory quality documents (laboratory quality manual,
safety manual, SOPs, worksheets, records, etc.) pertaining to laboratory
standards in conformance to ISO 15189. - Schedule and provide training and coaching
to the laboratory personnel to enhance Good Laboratory Practices. - Work closely with facility Medical
Superintendent and senior clinicians to strengthen the laboratory
/clinical interface - Work in close collaboration with the
Laboratory Manager and Laboratory QA officer advocate with facility
management for increased administrative and financial support to the
laboratory to ensure requisite quality improvements. - Provide technical assistance for equipment
including validation, calibration, certification and routine servicing to
ensure efficient operation and minimal test interruptions - Spearhead efficient implementation of both
facility and project action plans as required. - Provide support in the preparation of
project progress reports and tracking project progress.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences with at least five years of working
experience. - Registration with AHPC is mandatory.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the
medical laboratory quality system regulations 21 CFR 495 and ISO 15189 and
15190 and quality tools such as: quality system auditing, process
validation - A minimum of two years of mentoring and/
or training health care workers in government institutions. - Broad knowledge and experience in
conducting internal audits based on ISO 15189 standards. - Time management and excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate
clearly with employees, and clients. - Demonstrate ownership for the integrity of
work. - Computer literacy i.e. knowledge of MS
Office programs like Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
