Job Summary: The Pharmacy
Technician will provide medication and other health care products to patients,
carry out routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication for patients;
support pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing
medications.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will dispense medications
including ARVs and OI Medicines according to prescriptions made by
clinicians. - Plan, quantify, forecast and monitor usage
of medicines and ensure rational use of drugs. - Provide appropriate information to clients
on indications, contra-indications, dosage and side effects of medicines
and interactions. - The jobholder will also record pharmacy
data, all drugs dispensed to the clients, names of the drugs and the
patients both electronically and manually - Counsel clients on adherence, keeping
appointments, and identify treatment technicalities to promote quality
medicine use at the Hospital. - Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking
pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed
medicines and supplies; quantify and prepare orders for medicines in a
timely manner; verify receipt; and remove expired/outdated drugs. - Continually monitor stock, storage of
products and ensure that expired /damaged stock is promptly removed from
the store. - Manage the physical receipt, verification
and safe storage of drugs received at the facility. - Prepare and submit monthly and activity
reports.

- The ideal candidate for the Pharmacy
Technician job opportunity should preferably hold a Diploma in Pharmacy or
its equivalent from a recognized institution. - The applicant must be registered with
Allied Health Professionals Council. - At least three years’ experience working
in a similar position. - Extensive knowledge of the national supply
chain management system - Should be knowledgeable in drug
regulation. - Excellent written and oral communication
and interpersonal skills
