Coordinator
non-government organization which was founded in 1986 by Ugandan mothers
committed to providing relief aid to needy children left parentless by the
civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda, UWESO is currently implementing an
Economic Strengthening component of BETTER OUTCOMES Project to reach out to
60,000 vulnerable households in 20 districts in Eastern and Northern, the USAID
funded Districts through Livelihoods and
other pathways over a five year period (2015-2020) .Village Savings and Loans
Association (VSLA) Methodology, Business Skills Training, Financial Literacy
Education and Bank Linkage are key interventions under the economic
strengthening component
Responsibilities:
- In charge of mentoring and the supervision
of Community Based Trainers - Tasked with the mobilization and
sensitization of community groups - Mobilization and raising awareness with
local leadership, Civil society and Community - Training groups in the implementation of
Village Savings & Loans Association(VSLA) methodology - Gathering VSLA data & monitoring the
Village Saving and Loans Associations - Provide technical support to partner staff
on business development service . - Prepare periodic & operational Plans
- Prepare progress reports
- Participate in M& E
Functions-Documentation of Progress, Success stories, lessons learnt - Participate in Baseline Surveys, Impact
Assessment - Support all project economic strengthening
team. - Network with other Partners and Field
Staff - Perform any other assignment by UWESO
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold an Honours
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Economics,
Business Administration - A minimum of two years of relevant
experience in Community Development, Rural Finance /VSLA Promotion,
Enterprise Development, Linkage Banking and OVC Programming - Computer literacy skills
- Training and supervisory skills
- Partnership Management
- Good team player with good people’s skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills - Ability and willingness to ride a
motorcycle (Valid permit required ) - Knowledge of the local socioeconomic environment
- Willingness to reside within the area of
jurisdiction after appointment - Knowledge of VSLA Methodology is an added
advantage - Age: Above 25 years
