through strengthening collaboration between the traditional and biomedical
health care systems through advocacy, research, capacity development,
partnerships and service-linkages.
PROJECT:
(WEI/B) the financial support from USAID are implementing a BETTER OUTCOMES
PROJECT for Children and Youth in Eastern and Northern Uganda. The purpose of
the project is to improve access to comprehensive services across the continuum
of HIV care and to help vulnerable children and care givers prevent and respond
to HIV, violence and other adversities that impact child wellbeing in Northern
Uganda, including the District of Lira, Dokolo, and Kole.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will design guidelines and
strategies on promoting both community based and facility based sexual
reproductive health interventions including HIV services to youths. - Mentor and supervise District based
trainers and Community based trainers - Link youth from vulnerable households to
various services (vocational training, Village Saving and Loan Association
groups, agro-enterprise groups.) - Organize assessment and career guidance
for apprenticeship - Organize entrepreneurship training for apprentices
- Keenly monitor apprenticeship outcomes
over time - Coordinate youths activities and
conducting home visits to beneficiary households in collaboration with
Para-Social Workers.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the USAID Project
Youth Technical Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Humanities with post graduate training in project management. - A minimum of three years of related
experience in OVC programming. - Prior experience in working with Youth
program is an added advantage.
